About Jo

Hi I am Jo, a Silver Accredited Tour Guide based in Guernsey, Channel Islands. (49 29’22” N 2 32’41″W if you want the exact science).

I was fortunate enough to be raised in Guernsey and, I haven’t left since. I love my island home and, always feel privileged to be able to share some of it’s unique character with visitors and local residents alike. No specialism as such, I just enjoy the island and, think it has a very unique history.

Outside of researching & showing people my beautiful island home, I have worked within the Guernsey Finance Industry for over 30 years, I am now a self employed consultant. I love my family, my cats and my friends (not necessarily in that order). I love to take off in my campervan and see the world off of the rock (mostly France), I like to crochet, play ukulele, swim in the sea, try and keep my garden under control, read, write poetry and short stories and paint pretty pictures. I am a crazy lady on a push bike, I enjoy wine & gin and, love socializing with family and friends……I also go to the gym but pleasure is probably too strong a word for that.

I have a keen interest in local politics, I am a Douzenier (Councillor) in Guernsey’s largest Parish (by land mass, 4th by population) – Castel and, a Committee member of Women in Public Life, a group established to encourage and support females interested in standing for public roles.

This is also a lifestyle blog, so as well as Guernsey and tours, all of the above will often feature in my posts.

  1. Hi Jojo, just found your Blog all about Guernsey and feeling very jealous!!! It’s our favourite holiday destination and I call it my special little island. We hope to get back over this year as really missing seeing all our favourite and special places. The Little Chapel is probably our very favourite place – although it brings a tear or two as my late Mum loved it too. My daughter always wanted to get married there! Having read your Blog I realise I need to update mine – not sure where the time goes too!

    Best wishes,
    Ellen

    1. Hi Ellen it’s lovely to hear from someone who is a fan of the island. I’m very lucky to live here & hope that my love for the island comes across in the blog. I love the little chapel too although I have to say I haven’t visited for years. Time certainly does fly by, I don’t update my blog nearly as much as I would like but I do try and do it at least monthly. I will keep an eye out for your next update. Jojo
